The Atlantic Highlands First Aid & Safety Squad will begin 2012 with a new lineup officers.
The all-volunteer emergency medical services and rescue operation elected Tom Hayden to the position of chief for 2012. Hayden was captain of the organization in 2011 and is an experienced emergency medical technician.
Also elected to new positions were past captain Jerry Pandolfo, who was elected captain; Tom McKiernan, a past captain, was elected first lieutenant; and Sara Weimer was elected second lieutenant.
Lou Marotta was elected to another term as president of the organization. Ed Cetron will become vice president, Walter Curry returns as treasurer, John Ligon as secretary and Beverly Glynn as assistant secretary.
The AHFAS provides the residents of Atlantic Highlands with free, around-the-clock emergency medical services. The organization operates solely on generous donations from the borough and residents.
As always, the organization is seeking volunteers. No experience is necessary, just a desire to help friends and neighbors in need. Free training is provided. The personal benefits are endless.
